Harlow Council have successfully prosecuted a man who was making his neighbours’ lives hell.

Mr Kori Homan of Little Pynchons was fined more than a whopping £1600 (including costs)  for breaching a Noise Abatement Notice served on 22 February 2010 by Harlow Council’s Environmental Health team, after neighbours complained that loud music and shouting often reached intolerable levels at night and during the early hours. The Council continued to keep an eye on the situation and continued to recieve complaints and so took Mr Homan to court.

As I have said many times before, I think our council has a responsibility to not just enforce the rules but make examples of persistent offenders like Mr Homan, who wasn’t even in the court to receive his sentence.

If you suffer from noise related incidents they can be reported to Contact Harlow on (01279) 446655 or direct to Environmental Health on (01279) 446111.

If you need advice or information on noise nuisance, Harlow Council has a good web page here.
